   Onebook was born out of a simple truth: students who read deeply, think critically, and express themselves clearly are better prepared for the future.

   As a private tutor and SAT instructor in Canada, South Korea and China, I spent 20+ years helping students aim for the best U.S. and Canadian universities. But I kept seeing the same challenge—many lacked the essential skills needed for higher-level learning. And I realized these skills couldn’t be built in just a few months.

   The students who excelled were the ones who had read widely over time. Reading had given them not just stronger language skills, but also empathy, creativity, and confidence.

   That’s why I created Onebook—a reading program that fosters these essential qualities through award-winning literature and meaningful discussion. Our mission is to help students grow into thoughtful, articulate individuals ready for post-secondary success and beyond.
