Meet our educators

Elizabeth Loewen

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Loewen. I’ve been helping children discover the joy of reading for over 30 years and currently work as an Educational Assistant and after-school program manager at John Knox Christian School. I’m also a certified Behavioral Interventionist, working with high-needs children, and I’m completing my degree in Child and Youth Care with plans to pursue a teaching certificate. When I’m not studying or working, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my grandson and relaxing with hobbies like reading, baking, and quilting. I'm excited to share my love of books with your children!

Grethel

Hi, I’m Miss Grethel. I’ve worked with children for over 9 years, and for the past 5 years, I’ve focused on teaching students in grades 2–6. I especially enjoy sharing books like The Wild Robot and The One and Only Ivan, which are rich in vocabulary and meaningful themes. Outside of teaching, I love reading, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

Diana

Hi, I’m Diana. I’ve been working with students for over 25 years, with a background in teaching SAT classes and advising on the planning stages of students’ university admission essays. Over the years, I realized that strong vocabulary and reading skills are the key to success in writing, so I created a reading program for students in grades 1–8. Through reading and discussing award-winning literatures recommended by grade level, onebook’s reading program helps children develop higher level vocabulary, critical thinking skills, empathy, and hopefully ideas that can change the world!
